Paul, they usually do not cause condensation until the fan sticks, so make sure you get a ball bearing fan. In addition the cold surface is next to the hot chip and it is unlikely to get the local temp below the dew point on a forced chip. On a chip where it is not needed you can have that problem.

There are many people whose spare disposable budget might be $50 per week, and a saving is worth while. You and I can buy what we want, but not all. That simple fact is driving the under $1000 systems and will drive the cooler/speed forcers as well.

In addition I place a low value on my spare disposable time, otherwise I would not cut the grass, paying a labourer to do it, and doing some high value thing at that time. However I like to cut the grass, and rake leaves, and other physical tasks. My billed time is $35 to $120 per hour depending on what I am doing.
