Units still go up but there is a trend to integrate several functions (that used be performed by separate chips) into a single chip (SoC System on Chip; several years ago TI's cell phone on a chip) and both Intel and AMD will come out with a chip that integrates GPU and CPU into a single chip - and if I understand correctly you end up with a (more complex) single chip instead of two and units actually go down and so do cost for Intel and AMD.
Integrating several functions that's were frontend companies like AMAT et al shine.
KLIC is more or less unit driven; I am not sure about testing when it comes to highly integrated SoCs.
KLIC is not really a peer of LRCX et al - both have different growth path.
