10/15/10 Update Mr. Market continued to climb the steep “Wall of Worry” for another week and there’s little sign he’s out of breadth. At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.80% YTD (vs. up 5.85% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 9.53% YTD (vs. up 7.96% YTD a week ago). And the Contest median is now up an even better 10.70% YTD (vs. up 9.37% YTD a week ago). Our Contest leader ROCKY’s portfolio (up 47.90% YTD) had another stellar week, while WILDER’s portfolio (up 38.40% YTD) and FILO's portfolio (up 36.38% YTD) remained in the second and third slots. At Friday's close, 26 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black with 17 of the 32 beating the NBI. Portfolio Changes: ZGEN buyout at $9.75. I used the Friday, 10/15, closing prices for the reallocation. RPRX did a 1-4 reverse split with a temporary symbol change to RPRXD. Below is the Top Ten list.
