i did about 4.89x

a fair return for time spent

about 17% per annum

while always remaining about 50% in cash, meaning the committed funds were sort of kept busy and often in harm's way

had i simply liquidated and gone 100% to gold, the result would be about the same

there is a message in above experience somewhere
