Whatever. I don't intend this to be an insult, which is what "whatever" ordinarily means to me.

In this case, "whatever" is a simple statement of fact.

If one buys gold, one buys a store of value.

Personally, I don't think I need a store of value.

If I ever need a store of value, I expect it would consist of food and energy. Beans, rice, flashlight batteries, and the like. My personal favorite is beeswax candles, which smell wonderful; candles made out of any other wax are nasty, but that's a personal choice. I am very fond of Louisiana brown rice, and while I love many different kinds of beans, in general, Goya is a good brand.

I can't spend beeswax candles, I can't spend Goya beans, and I can't spend gold.

We can revisit this anytime you like.
