Why the stock is tanking-
Simple answer more sellers than buyers--
also-
1. Management credibility
2. Slower growth
3. Lower margins
4. Competition
5. Insider selling
6. Product transition problems
7. Merger difficulties
8. Currency issues and asian exposure

Just to name a few...Looks like enough reasons to me for the stock to be in the toilet...

More reasons why ASND is tanking (not covered by Scott):

1) No 56k standard established. ISP's fear buying modems that will be outdated when a true standard is released.

2) Go with CSCO or COMS; two companies that are more likely to be around 10 years from now with huge revenues that dwarf ASND.

3) Management warnings of poor growth next 2 quarters and finally 10% growth in last half of 98.

4) Around 10 or so downgrades last month.

5) Stock below 200/50/30 day moving averages. Not buy indicator.

6) Overhead resistance. For every uptick, lots of blood above trying to get out or less of a loss or break even.

7) ASND making new 2 year lows daily. Who wants to catch a falling kinfe?
