Irby I couldn't agree more...That set up was perhaps an excellent deal say 18 or 24 months ago, and even then I bet folks that were already EXTREMELY well versed in the market were the winners. I think you are being very polite about it. It will be interesting to see how the recent bloom of SOES trading offices pans out.

I missed a geat short today. I hopped in and out of a certain hardware/software company a couple times for modest gains and then figured it was time for a short but didn't execute one. RRRRrrr... what might have been. Pretty soon I'll have to give it a whirl.

btw I was going to do my first short a ways back on C--L a little stinker of a stock that reverse split and got a hype rally into the relative stratosphere, but remaind unmarginable, because of SEC investigation. It was comical reading about it at the motley fool where the company was refered to as a vulture, and then reading about it in various short term boards where people are counting their chickens and raving about how they are going to spend all the money they are about to make.
Hey they may have very well made that money too. I am very wary of the reverse split deals. I did alright on a couple of very shakey companies, but it is always a spooky to me...LOCKC is a good example...1/4 to 5 3/8 in two days...but man it wasn't over 5 bucks for more than 5 minutes! I didn't buy at that low and certainly didn't get out anywhere near five... The stock was white hot and all the while a small securities firm that knew the company and its product well was trying to tell the world that the stock was probably about to be de-listed and that the rally was based on conditions that simply did not exsist.

I am trying to stick almost exclusively with decent companies I think GENE has promoted that thought..as a bit of a saftey net...if one got into a bind a good company might see you out of it...the GE effect!
