I liked the book better but that's 'cause McCarthy is so good. The movie was worth a look. Obviously neither one is something to watch if yer down and looking to be cheered up!<g>

Kind of a bizarre Picaresque deal.....the dark version of Man of La Mancha as it were......you could even interpret it as having nothing to do with "the apocalypse" and everything to do with the journey anyone goes through raising a kid, where all of the dangers portrayed are just amped up versions of what kids face when they grow up anywhere. At least that's one interpretation.

All the Pretty Horses is great, too....
