I would not touch Petrobras . I do not trust the long term political environment.

Ed

If you think PBR will rally next month, why not just peddle some Nov puts (or Dec when they open)? The premiums are not bad.

Something else that may be hurting PBR is that Dilma Rousseff is expected to win the runoff to succeed Lula. The perception seems to be that she could be more of a economic nationalist than Lula and likely to demand a higher government take from the pre-salt.

Hello Ed,
Any opinions on DPM? I purchased a bit here for the yield, but also for some pipeline exposure to Niobrara shale(appears to be pretty wet stuff in the formation). Doesn't appear to be much infrastructure in and around the formation, bit early I guess. But if I am not mistaken there is a 12" ngl line running in there. Any comments would be appreciated.
TIA

Ed, I bookmarked and read this closely a year or so ago. I think it would behoove anyone interested in PBR to look at the off-balance sheet data at the end of the report, being used as an example, and try to update it. I am biased to Brazil in general, but think the Brazilian election is going to cause a major dislocation, like it did in 2002, for those of you with good memories.
