Just chalk it up to creative writing. Kenneth takes liberties with the truth for the good of all. I would ask him the terms of his separation his employment with the State of Washington, but giving the state the benefit of good thinking they don't terminate positions such as the one he held for "cause". They serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and can simply be told their services are no longer needed. The reason that is smart is that is avoids the appeal one would have in being terminated for "cause".
