Forgive the paranoid mumblings of a long who's watching his CUBE stake go slowly into the Pampers on a crashing absence of news (while everybody has surely already spec'd their designs for early '98), but consumer DVD remains an embryonic curiosity until I can buy, in one trip, three discs containing: 1) The Lion King. 2) Star Wars (with a toggle for Original or Revamped), 3) three original uncut episodes of Star Trek.

So just for a check of opinions, what does everyone think of the DVD vs Divx war? Who is going to win? This has some major implications for CUBE, not to mention retailers as if Divx loses, Circut City is going to see some pain while Good Guys and such will benifit. Hopefully so will we. So don't be shy and lets see some comments. (Nothing from the peanut gallery about the author of this note please.)

Fujian becomes a big VCD producer in China. There may be a problem with this link. I e-mailed the webmaster to fix it.
