I find it interesting why no one has talked about the potential event of ASND going
out of business, filing for Chapter 11 due to no product demand

JM,
Your joking right? I'm sure in the next day or two of trading you will see ASND move up...then pop. I would imagine the stock has been moving down because of a lot of shorts covering. All those small trades are shorts, nobody in their right mind would sell at these prices. Then you see large buys. The volume was very low today. This is a good sign.

I'm quite proud I bought my call options at the days low for the last 2 days in a row. I have just finished making my position so I'm ready.
I suspect this is the bottom or w/i 1.5 points. Anyone waiting to buy better do it tomorrow(is market open Veterans Day?) Because after the smart shorts finish covering there is nothing else keeping this very oversold stock down. Don't forget options expiration on the 21st. Parity is $30.

What?! "No demand", you say? You need to catch up on the news, because there have been several new contracts signed. Ha! A profitable and growing corporation, in an expanding market, with no debt and lots of cash...and you think they'll file Ch. 11? Helloooooo!!

Currently Ascend is very far away from chapter 11 and the problem so far has mostly been that the yearly growth rate has come down from 200+ % to less then 40%. This let some air out of a incredibly inflated Ascend share price bubble.
When Bay Networks was loosing or not winning any money this spring its price/sales ratio dropped below 2. If the same thing happened to Ascend due to really deteriorationg business the equivalent price would be about $10 per share of Ascend.

Jeff:

You state:
> no one has talked about the potential event of ASND going out
> of business, filing for Chapter 11...

After a really deepressing day with the high tech stocks in my portfolio I did not think anything could bring a smile to my face, but your above statement sure did the job!

I think you may want to write the management and point this notion of Chapter 11 to them especially in light of the massive R&D hiring and spending that they have just started to launche (actually started last Friday)! It sure is absolutely ridiculous for them to spend all the money on hiring all these expensive Silicon Valley engineers just before going chapter 11!!
