Yes you can short it. I am currently short AMZN and have been many times over the last 2 months. Whoever told you that is mistaken. It can be hard to borrow, though. As of yet it has not been a problem for me......... CDRD is another of my favorite short positions. They have a convertable preferred that will greatly increase the float (9.3 million shares added to float of 4 million) after this week ....the company has no earnings and NO REVENUES. Its a story stock about to be heavily diluted....share price 21 1/2 $ today.........best of luck.......;^)
