Well its not that there is no way to store energy, there are all sorts of ways, but there is not cheap, efficient way that easily scales to be a significant factor in our national energy production and use.

That point would apply to conventional sources as well, but with conventional sources you don't store much of anything after you produce the electricity, you just send it out, and produce more whenever you need it. Wind and solar are not "whenever you need it" types of power.
