Jay, whether NEC builds its fab or not the feature size is going smaller. The worldwide demand drives everything, and the lasers are at the heart of the transition. Intel cancelled a plant in Texas but at the same time they were negotiating to adopt the DEC fab and will upgrade that for 0.25 and smaller. Memory makers that don't upgrade will suffer the most, the production cost/MB drops for the smaller size, the power requirements drop for the smaller size, etc. I figure you know this but just a reminder - growth of Cymer's business in the near future is almost certain, after which the growth will be more subdued (also tempered by encroaching competition, dependent on developments, etc.) In the meantime they can make some real dough.
