My patience eroded in the face of too many round trips. IRF at 13 1/2 last november, to 17 or so, to 11 (where a silly covered call play knocked me out of IRF) to 23 or so, back to 11. In the last year I have hurt my returns by holding thru downtrends and failing to sell at tops. If I could steel myself to either a. check the prices once a year, every January or so or b. sell on a hair trigger the minute an uptrend line is violated, I might decide to buy IRF again. As it is I'm thinking of buying smallcap funds instead of tech stocks. The fund managers don't know when to buy or sell any more than I do, but at least they can get it done during their workday and sleep at night.
