As Tommaso has pointed out numerous times, Soros comment was a literate comment -- "gold is the ultimate bubble" which means "final" bubble. Penultimate bubble was the real estate bubble.

I don't know if he was intentionally misleading... could be.

They key to the gold bull though is twofold:

1) neither you (nor I, nor most) know *anybody* who owns gold

2) the VAST MAJORITY will discover they want to own gold

The Federal Reserve; the Congress, the White House; their State economy/deficits; the coverups of banking/wall street fraud; the recent shakedowns via nasdaq bubble and real estate bubble; the collapsing currency; the skyrocketing inflation (my Dad's noticing this already while shopping and seeing 0.000% increase in SS) will ALL serve to wake people up.

2011 will be the wake up year. Anybody deluded enough to think that voting back in the GOP will bring about something good meet the definition of insane (or short term memory disorder). Anybody who thinks that keeping the DEMS in control is also insane (or short term memory disorder). Not really insane, just bought off on corporate self-serving elitist BS. The GOP brought us the 2008 melt down and the explosion in deficit from the Clinton years. Clinton did his small part to set it up. Obama has done his part to explode it further, and to invade privacy more than even Bush, and to prevent the fraud from coming to light (how else could it take two full years at a cost of trillions already???).

I no longer think a change in party or even individuals within any party would help (the naive "vote 'em all out"); a modified Constitution is a must. Corporations are not people. And abolish a private banking institution which has "gone rogue." They don't serve the people; they serve UP the people by creating inflation, the stealth tax. More is needed than that of course... just a pipe dream, I know.

We were at a large resort for a festival about a month ago.. A cross section of people.. I purposely mentioned pms as an investment when I had a chance.. Almost all looked at me as if I was crazy or had started partying too early that day.. Well that probably happened but I had my wits about me, most of the time, anyway..:)

Most of the people I talked to we knew and I was not surprised they were in conventional, mainstream investments.. Some retired, some nearing retirement..Mostly pretty darn affluent though, I would guess.

There was one woman that showed some interest so I gave her some sites like Kitco, 321 Gold, etc. to start some research.. She wrote them down..

I don't know if she followed up or not..

Btw, my brother is the only one I know of that has followed my advice.. But I told him to look at it as insurance only.. So I hope his first investment outside of cattle, farm equipment, barb wire and baling twine works out.. Usually one's first venture outside is the best and then it's all down hill..

Good luck to Bro and all of us.. :)
