The post-industrial society has, well, lots of industries! It was envisaged that a coming post-industrial society will have only consumers. Producers would be just niche and boutiques.

Then the proverbial clog shoe was thrown on the machine wheel.

World society gave a 90º move sideways at the very end of 80 decade as Communist fell.

First, not much thought was given at the very possibility of communist going kaputt.

Second -and most important- no futurist predicted a world san-communism.

Thus world does not wait for futurists to write the script. It is Lights, Camera, Action as it starts shooting the film straight away.

That is why many are caught with their trousers down as reality hits.

What we see today in the economic world is still the echo of the bang that ocurred late 80s.
