Then why have all the phone equipment companies embraced it. Why have they built products where the phone is ran off Java? They must be idiots. By phone companies I assume you mean Nokia, Motorola, etc. Why? It makes sense for them. The same reason they have phones that run off Windows CE or GeoWorks. But that doesn't mean the Sun Java marketing machine (and the $$$ behind it) didn't play a part as well. People always want the "latest thing", and if people want a phone that runs Java, well, give it to them.
