BUG-Pentium II/300 crashes

Raj,

at least my GATEWAY 300XL crashes, when i enter

tried it several times, 3 different things happen:
1. error message: your program cause ...
when i enter the same sequence again, system reboots

2. system stalls
3. system reboots immediately

hope i did something wrong and not INTEL :-)

lets try to answer the following:

1. Will this bug cause Intel to do a recall, offer a patch (?), etc...
2. will that have any financial implication.
3. Does the short-term down trend offer a buying opportunity
4. Does AMD, Cyrix have a short term advantage.


IMO, those are very well-chosen questions, and the answer to all four is "yes."

Mr. Raj:
Many assembly programs can be written to load certain binary codes
into the registers of you PC to have it crashed. So , if you want to crash your computer, there are many ways to do it.
