Right. It's not unusual to see people proclaim things about others without anything of substance to back it up, especially during contentious arguments, which seems to be a common practice in these parts.

The other issue goes to another level, which is a proclamation presupposing an assumption. If you proclaim religion xyz or in this case Christianity as your authorization to take a position, then the usual assumption is you actually have internalized the fundamental core doctrines of principle associated with the religion, which is not necessarily always true. In fact, it may rarely be true in modern times where religion is as much a heritage and cultural icon as it is a doctrine of faith and practice. One can easily represent the artifacts of culture without internalizing the virtuous message. Even giving the appearance of courage in championing the religion where no couragious virtue is present.
