I am all for politicians have the opportunity to have the same kind of retirement options they provide for us. Let them live on Social Security and whatever they saved in their 401k.

Any 'pension' to any former politician that was not paid by deduction from their overlarge incomes should be cancelled, nullified and stopped. Especially Congress and former Presidents should have their pensions cancelled as they got us into this mess.

If it were not done carefully it might also nullify entire classes of civil service pensions. Would that be a bad thing?
