Irresponsible Speculation Update.

Some thoughts on the last two weeks:

1) When I first suggested Nov '97 $20 calls, they were could be *bought* at 1/2.

They are currently *selling* at 3/8 after trading as high as 2 1/2.

So anyone could've exited with anywhere from a 400% profit to 25% loss at any point (on what should have been a small wager.)

2) I think everything Apple announced today is a positive. Job's "90 days" reminds me of Franklin Roosevelt's first "100 days" of the New Deal -- try a lot of ideas, new things some will work, some wont -- but don't get mired in the staus quo.

3) An Apple-watcher friend caught the conference and made this observation: First he loved the presentation. He thought Steve Jobs is an absolute genius. Jobs created this atmosphere of secrecy. Than he said nothing and allowed third parties to spin all sorts of scenarios thereby creating a level of suspense and press interest (free publicity!!!) to debut Apple's new product line and store. "Amelio could never have pulled this stuff off."

4) I'm not going to defend the rumor sites but I'm not going to condemn them either. I think the jury's still out on all the events that people have been expecting.

PS: Last I heard, Warren doesn't mess with options.
