is not happening in b.c. any more either.

from the air you can see strategic pockets
of clear cutting in a checkerboard fashion.
these areas are then replanted; the theory
being in that 80 years or so, you go back in
and cut the squares left standing and so on.

of course, the government and corporations
did not do this of their own volition, but
rather, their hands were held to the fire.
