Yes I do have nice memories; but it was hard to smile for a while.

Along with land ownership came numerous problems of maintenance and protecting the parcel from thieves of various kinds. It was a medium sized parcel (about 420 acres) which is still a lot of wood land to keep your eye on.

One year someone(s) planted marijuana abutting, and just to the south of, 50 or more small pines. Apparently that planting method masks the plants from government/state flyovers. I contacted the authorities, but in retrospect I would have had better results had I contacted the Burger King. Now I am convinced police, or someone in their office, notified the pot growers because the next time I went to look all the plants had been removed.
