Blame MIcrosoft too. They increasingly sold bloatware up until Windows 7. Every new OS needed more RAM, faster CPU, more HD space.

Blame Intel for phoney benchmarks to make new chips look faster than they are. But that's marketing.

It's true though. The last three computers I've bought were supposed to be many times more powerful than the last, but they seem to run at the same speed! I blame Intel. They keep multiplying cores, but it's not helping...

INTC's lucky it has a monopoly.
