Think if you were ny which gets much less in federal dollars than it pays in. NYC is worse because the same thing happens with state revenues. Funny thing is that the areas that benefit most from gov dollars are the ones that reliably support the conservative right. How do you think losing those military bases would affect your state long term. And are you satisfied with schools that just barely get the job done?

I will now point out that in 2005 (the last year for which I have numbers) Arkansas received about $1.41 in federal dollars for every tax dollar sent to Washington, whereas California got 78 cents. My state has been helping to support yours for many years.
