David, thanks for update on K6-3D from the betterchips.com website.

On the website, it says that the K6-3D running at 300 MHZ (real silicon) is 25-30% faster than a P2-300, Intel's fastest chip!!!!!

Will it be faster than a 333 or 366 P-II?

WAY faster. The Pentium II 333 will still access main memory at the same rate as a Pentium II-233, i.e., at the 66 MHz bus bandwidth. So I would expect the P2-333 to be only 5% faster than the 300, just as the 300 was only 5% faster than the 266.

But besides this, wait until Adobe Photoshop and QUAKE come out optimized for the 3D instructions. The FPU of the K6-3D is four times faster in single precision than the FPU of the K6. Image processing and 3D processing absolutely do not need double precision. These types of applications could run up to 3 times faster.

BTW, 333MHz P2 may come out as early as February, but from what I've read, 366 will not appear until July at the earliest.
