and yet you don't consider it absurd that a harmless trace gas of which humans contribute a minuscule fraction, could cause global climate disruption.

Instead of substance you offer ridicule. Straight outta Alinskyhood.

Is the idea that the sun's energy being absorbed and converted to electricity can have an impact on the climate any more absurd than the idea that if you paint road and roof surfaces with white paint that it will reflect the sun's energy back into space to help mitigate global warming?
