Do you think oil, coal, and natural gas will be much more expensive in a decade (more than the normal fluctuations is recent decades, and much more expensive in real terms, or even as a percentage of personal or national income, not just in nominal dollar terms), and not available as a mass commodity in say a half century?

I don't see that as likely. But assume it is. Then in less than a decade the price signals will be telling us to invest in alternatives (which might not be solar or wind, just something besides oil, coal, and natural gas). But now they don't.
