don't have to knock it down. Time is going to knock it down.
You clearly need to look up the definition of "straw man". Let me help en.wikipedia.org

Fossil fuels are finite and getting more expensive in the world every day. New extraction techniques will just burn it up faster. The resource base is fixed. Finite. Not growing

Coal certainly is finite in human terms. I think that the jury is still out on oil.

We are fortunate here in America but it won't last beyond about 50 years for "economical to extract" fuels. The vast rest of the world is not there.

You are making that number up and you are wrong. There is 300 years worth of easily accessible coal here in the US.

China has about 50 years worth of coal. They have a bit more urgency. We can take our time and let others take the risks and incur the costs while we wait for the cost effective solutions to bubble to the top.

Whatever knocks it down, the effort is useless. A straw man is an argument that hasn't been made. Knocking it down is a sign of sloppiness, or dishonesty.
