The first home-run ball bounced untouched on the padding over the wall. Could the fielder have caught it? Maybe. But surely the fans had the right to catch it, being it was technically out of play. The fact one fan not only missed the ball, but also reached into the playing field and touched the fielder's glove is why there was controversy. I'd rule the fans had a right to the ball and the interference was not intentional. This combined with the fact we can't assume a catch would be made on a ball that landed out of the playing field would make me rule a home run.

As for Berkman's shot that appeared to go foul, that was either an optical illusion it was foul or someone in the truck altered the video. In fact, there were several balls that I'd have ruled home runs, some that even looked like they were fouled back against the screen. It's all part of a conspiracy to keep the Yankees from winning, which is why they only have 27 championships.
