Ken,

Another option would be to INSERT TABLE with maximum columns needed and sufficient rows to handle all your distinct requirements.

For those areas where fewer columns are needed, select LAYOUT, highlight the cells where you want to have fewer columns, then select MERGE CELLS.

Or there are other options to achieve what you wish using a TABLE then using either SPLIT CELL or SPLIT TABLE when and where required.
