We had some good times during WWII. What this country needs is a good external enemy to bring it together- if we don't have that, we're a mess. Maybe aliens from outerspace can provide the impetus for some cohesion. I know the wingers are trying to manufacture a Muslim Menage to equal Hitler, but I think they're going to come up empty on that one. So sad, too bad.

When I was a child I understood one thing. Decent men do not run for political office. It dirties their hands too much. Anyone who has scruples ( Obama has compromised many of his for example allowing Holder to try to overturn the Don't ask Don't tell policy while the Pentagon accepted it ) and I think he has gone from an idealist to a Washington puppet for a lot of POLITICAL reasons. What a shame that men whom we could really use to sincerely THINK and run this country are not interested. Only those who want political POWER and FINANCIAL gain.. Or so it seems to me.
