let us premise for a mo that the chinese rapes the planet if so, given that americans on per capita basis use 5x the planet's resources as used by the chinese per capita, what then are the americans doing to the planet? ... answer ... that's right

You are forgetting that a lot of those resources that China extracts end up on American, European and other non-Chinese shelves as imports from China. If those products were manufactured in the US it's possible that even more resources would have been needed.
