THC,

Re: "Help all of us on
the Cymer thread sleep better."

I have received our Nikon DUV exposure tool and we have "fired up" the
Cymer laser without any problems ... As mentioned before, I am having
a technical meeting with Nikon and should have some answers for you
in early December. I'm planning to get answers to at least these
questions:

1) How many DUV tools (stepper and scanner) do you currently have in
the field.
2) How many DUV tools do you expect to sell in '97 and '98.
3) Are there any reported failures of Cymer lasers in the field.
4) Are you evaluating any other laser vendors (esp. Komatsu)

BTW, we did a source inspection of our tool in Japan and didn't run into
any issues with the laser ... Are you still hearing of problems with
Cymer lasers ?? I thought that rumors a month ago about manufacturing
problems were found to be untrue ??
