Garden of Perfect Brightness — Yuanmingyuan

TJ; studied about this sad event in college; never forgot about it...brings tears to ones eyes.

It is like the burning of the Library of Alexandria or the looting and burning of all the Mayan books; only this to me is even sadder.

So many sad moments in history and all in the name of what; greed!

Let us all teach our young...

Britain has yet to give Greece back what it stole and should; also agree; everything looted should be returned to China; zero questions about that fact...

And let us also hope all the loot stolen by Central Banks and Cartels shall also be returned to the people!

This article came out just this week!

China Remembers a Vast Crime

BEIJING — In early October of 1860, the commanders of the British and French forces waging war on Qing Dynasty China held a tense conference outside the gates of the Garden of Perfect Brightness — Yuanmingyuan — on the western outskirts of Beijing.

I have great respect for China; its 5000 years of history is the most interesting to study of any; rich and full of wonder!

Self-dealing Qing dynasty cleared out of the way by noble Freedom Fighters to bring The Enlightenment: <i can see possibilities for israel-like proactive actions down the years to right a victorian wrong >

The heroic British then educated the local yokels so that they could join the globalized village, sending them back to help raise the standards.

Now, the descendants of the freed can roam the planet, released from the Qing prison, speaking the lingua franca, trading in international financial instruments, riding the A380, working anywhere in the world, cerfing cyberspace in CDMA/OFDM mobility.

Unfortunately there were some glitches along the way as Japan tried to create an empire based on totalitarian dominance and World War I was won but the damaged was large.

Do you sometimes ponder the past and give thanks to the Noble Ways of Virtuous Victorian Values? Just as China has freed , Tibetan serfs from local yokel masters, your ancestors were freed from the Qing serf-drivers.

Hopefully China doesn't revert to their bad old ways, though you suggest there are pins within words, glimmerings of MADness. The North Korean style nationalism of Beijing could well lead to such Troubles.

Noblesse oblige,
Mqurice
