I don't think you got my point. Yes so I pay the very expensive plan that the government will give me and the plan that meets my needs is not available. The whole reason I want catastrapic coverage is so that medical bills don't wipe me out. I can afford my routine medical expenses. What I can't afford, or at least would be unhappy, to be presented with a medical bill in the hundreds of thousands, or more. I don't think the government will offer that option. When I used to pay the first 2500, I was pretty careful with costs. You would be surprised the difference in the costs of colonoscopies. I live in Maryland and I used to shop MD and surrounding states. Saved as much as $800.00. Now I am forced to buy the expensive MD plan that covers everything the government thinks I need, but I don't shop, because it makes no difference to me.
