Don't get depressed about the fact that the Giants had never lost the fifth game of a playoff series when ahead 3-1 before Wednesday evening, or the fact that they have never won one when ahead 3-2. There's a 1st time for everything and either the best team -- and they are pretty darned equal talent wise, if not experience wise -- or the luckier team, will win tonight, and in game 7 if it goes that far. Try not to think about the 1987 NLCS when the Giants lost after taking a 3-2 lead back to St. Louis or as J.T. Snow of the 2002 Giants team that blew a 3-2 World Series lead to the Angels, told the San Francisco Chronicle ... "Different teams, different players, different teams they're facing." Much tougher crowd here though. Weather's not bad here -- Sunny and 67° at 4:45 PM but it'll be chilly (~55°) and overcast by game time, warmer and sunny again tomorrow with no rain in sight. The locals are rather pleased about the Rangers beating the Yankees and advancing to the Series. Should the Phillies manage to get by the Giants, Roy Halladay will face off against Cliff Lee (our last year's Ace that we traded for Doc) in Gane 1 of the Series. I just realized that the Eagles have a bye week next week so ... Go Phillies! Our day here isn't shaping up all that well so far. William and Mary won 17-16 after UD missed a 40 yard field goal with 30 seconds left. W&M is now tied for 1st with UD in the very tough CAA conference. Under the best of circumstances Williamsburg is a fair hike from here but it'll be an especially long ride home for those locals that made the trip (been there, done that, too many times). - ce -
