Obama - Mumbai tour expense :

- From a very reliable source at Indian Hotel Corporation (the company that owns the Taj Group of Hotels) :

-There is no discount or freebie given to to the US Govt for the duration of his stay in Mumbai, India. It is US Tax payer paid in full.
- Assuming an average rate of INR 40000/night for a room(this is averaged between standard room and exec suites and presidential suite), billable time is 2 nights. Rooms occupied is approx 700 in IHC properties.

US$1 = INR45.

work out the US tax payer cost for a 2 day presidential boondoggle. My calculator says : (40000*700*2)/45 = USD 1244444.44
