Bailing out the banking industry as first step is a wise thing to do since this is a credit/loan based economy. Consider the analogy that you need to put gas in a tank first before you can start a fully functional car with a empty gas tank.

With regards to bailing out Wall Street. Please provide me with an instance. Without specific instances, it is just a rhetoric of the politicians. Is it more likely that the resurgence we see in the stock market resulting in the recovery in 401k values as well as the increase in the personal wealth of the investors is due to increased profits of corporations because they have moved their manufacturing to cheap labor countries? Or else how can you explain the widely successful Apple products which say designed in the US and manufactured in China.

Who said thinking is tough and why should we outsource our thought process to the TV networks and newspapers.
