Not indexing capital gains to inflation is yet another ... government scam because they cause the inflation and then collect the money. Indexing taxable basises for inflation would take away another convenient vehicle for government revenue. It would require a fiscally responsible government. IMHO once the people discover they can vote themselves the keys to the treasury it requires the flight of capital to restore balance. Of course the balance is restored by fiscal collapse and the destruction of the irresponsible government. Right now we should be long to take advantage of the euphoria of unseating Pelosi and restoring gridlock.
