Autumn, some perspective on money management. The market can be a very cruel place. I feel so sad for this guy... exchange2000.com

<< how many chickens? >>

WELL, in the end he was in the started pullet business (ie he would raise them until they were 18 weeks old, then sell them to the farmers who were in the egg selling business - as I remember chickens start laying eggs around 20 weeks old)

so on our farm, at anyone time, we had at least 20k chickens, ages ranging from day old chicks to 18 week old pullets. but he also rented
3 other farms and altogether he raised about 500k chickens a year.

in the very end, he was wiped out by a chicken disease (which I can't spell) which was at that time uncurable. As I understand it now, they have a vaccine for it.

if the markets get real boring someday, drop me a note and I will regale you with funny chicken stories. in turn of course, I would be happy to read funny corn stories <G>
