Ted, > Yes, but you said that you didn't buy the notion that men can't get close after childhood. You can't get close with another person if you can't show you're vulnerable.

Just because it's hard doesn't mean it's impossible.

So what if you as a man watch Oprah? Guys who have a problem with that really need to grow a pair.

(The View, on the other hand ...)

"Hell, inode believes you can be talked into being gay."

That's fascinating! Is that from his own experience? Did someone in his past "talk him into being gay", maybe just for a time?

The first time I was propositioned by a gay is an interesting story. I had run away from home at 17 and was splitting a $50/mo room (twin beds) with a buddy. We were both on acid at night about 3:00 am, and went to a nearby all night coffeehouse/doughnut shop.

We were both tripping our gourds off, looking around at the people in the place, which was pretty busy. My buddy said, "all these people are totally naive!" - about us being so high.

A guy on a stool next to us overheard, and said "Yeah, they sure ARE!" We assumed he was high too, and invited him over to our room to smoke some dope. We didn't SAY that, we just assumed he was on the same page.

Anyway, we got there and soon discovered that we were on different planets! The guy said he was gay, and said he would blow the both of us, right now! I was horrified, but my pal was into the "playboy philosophy" at the time and intrigued!

The guy didn't blow either of us, but he did relate his horrible personal story. He said he would blow local university kids who had been show a hot girl, then blindfolded at local frat houses (we lived right across from the Universtiy of Texas), then shown they were being blown by this sad guy. He went on and on about the degrading things he did, until we finally threw him out.

I later learned that that guy was not the typical gay, but a very sick gay into self-degradation.
