Sorry, I'd say Madow and Benen were just straining to concoct some cheap BS for their deadlines. The campaigns here have been holding regular mass sign-waving events at major intersections for weeks. They're out there for hours in the cold breathing car exhaust, and it's unreasonable to expect the foot soldiers with that dreary duty to be articulate, camera-ready, and armed with well-rehearsed talking points. Holder was involved in the fight to uphold DC's handgun ban, so the basic gist for their feelings about him is quite legit. The conservatives here hate Murkowski because she's willing to compromise on things like the Holder nomination, and because she's pro-choice. They want Miller because he would support Jim DeMint and his agenda.
