I agree with Arnold that Brown and Whitman are two of the best candidates in the country this year. However, I think Whitman is too stiff for CA.

Jerry Brown has come out with some very clever ads lately. The one where he has clips of Whitman and Arnie using the same phrases during their respective campaigns and then the campaign message saying something like "...we have tried that before and it didn't work. Why try it again"

And then yesterday I was impressed to see this one where Jerry has a clip of Whitman saying how she immigrated to CA some 30 years ago because it was a prosperous state. And then at the end the ad says "And who was Governor 30 years ago? Jerry Brown." Very very clever.

It is good to see these clever ads pulling Brown away which according to some polls has him ahead by 9 points.
