After reading over the quirks of GMR here, and the projections on GMR production made by Ultratech Stepper, I'm not even convinced that GMR is the next technology. I'd bet that it will be an odd little side road. It does add to the pressure in the industry and to the knowledge base, however.

I think that yesterday's IBM announcement was given too much weight by the press, who had not looked into the technology in detail. None of the press reports mentioned the negatives.

Guess yesterday was hype day. Apple and IBM both got more than their due.

If the GMR announcement was the reason for yesterday's drop, I expect QNTM to slow recover over the next week as analysts start to read and understand the details.
