First off your not a Moron, As I've followed you on other threads and your reasoning is always sound. Second off The Swiss aren't Morons either. I think who's buyin all this gold is the E.U. and the Asians. The Swiss want us to think that they are zigging when in fact they are zagging.

Don't know much about Canada or its gold reserves, but I doubt its physically possible for the mining industry make up for a CB sale very quickly. Such a sale would defintely exert downard pressure on the price of gold WHILE IT LASTS.

After that though, the market would control again. Its worth remebering that with every significant gold sale, the CB's would have less reserves, and therefore less and less contorl over the price of gold.

Which is why the CBs for the most part won't sell their gold and will prefer instead to talk about it....A bluff is worth calling.
