John;

Perhaps someone should disabuse you of the notion that receiving a PhD in a field makes someone equally competent to others in that field

Oh gosh, that sounds so, ......... If we ever get to the point that those with the most awards on the wall are the only ones we listen to, we are in deep doodoo. It is those that don't go along with the crowds that usually offer up the most promising advancements. Need I remind that virtually everyone went along with the housing boom.

I care not whether Ferguson can hold the stage with Krugman. I'm only concerned with Austrian economic theory getting a hearing in the realm of ideas. Ferguson may know something about the Austrian School. If so, he's not publishing it.

If Krugman shares your disdain for Murphy then let him spend a small portion of time in the name of charity for the Fresh Food Program at FoodBankNYC.org. It should be easy for him, if he's as great as you seem to think.

Now at total pledges of $43,135 by a total of 660 people.

PS. I agree with your slant on PhD's.
