Another one is that during the recent recession, business found was of operating that reduced their head count, so they don't have to hire more people now

I'll give you this point, but isn't it the job of business to be as efficient as they can? To me it is nonsense to argue that business have to hire more people - who are we to tell them that? ..........But my biggest gripe here Sam is that that the arguments you make here, as good as they are, miss the fact that these jobs aren't coming back. A business made more efficient because they let go unnecessary people isn't going to replace that person. And that big sucking sound of manufacturing leaving our shores - you don't think those jobs are going to come back do you? ........And the biggest loss of jobs wasn't even mention in your argument; housing! And it's not just housing but all the connected jobs to the housing industry that aren't going to come back.

It will be a slow recovery and unless Obama tries something really REALLY bold, I think jobs will be frightfully slow to return.

Terrific post Sam.

These minute facts appear to be overlooked in the zest of
this election and the blame Obama gets for everything.

Again I just cannot get over that a person who never listens to NPR wants funding cut since their fired the guy who now gets two million from Murdoch...

I would like to lie in that bed.
